Why taxing the rich is so hard

Et in Arcadia Ego

The King, he asked, "Why tax the rich? It raises little money?"
The taylor said, "My complex weave, it turns my profits runny."
Accountants talked of dividends that left the taxman baffled.
Then Monte laughed and laughed and laughed; the taxes were all snaffled.

Chorus

Et in Arcadia Ego
Et in Arcadia Ego...

(Repeat a billion times)

  5. What I would actually say that happened here is that a tycoon simply wanted to avoid an 'embarrassment of riches,' and in so doing then felt the need to repatriate it... or at least to expatriate it, let us say.

    Here's my rendition:

    Mr Brown went to town,
    Spending lots of money.
    He had not seen
    Who'd left the scene
    Before the banks went funny

    Rob Peter to pay Phil.
