Coming soon: A debate - "The rule of lawyers"

From the role and the legitimacy of the UN through to the power of super-injunctions, we will be considering the hegemony of law. We will be asking:

- Is this the age of the lawyer?

- Do we all now bow down to just one God: The Law?

- And do politicians who think government ultimately boils down to legislation create rods for their own backs?

Is it fair to say: Live by the law, die by the law?

(Shaun, please check there's nothing libelous in the above.)

  1. Oh not another post about Lawyers. Why do you do this to me?

  2. Was Judge Dredd prophetic?
    But then, perhaps not.

  3. Attention!
    Present Injunctions!
    Forward March!

It was different in our day. We knew our place.

  5. ...And when the last law was down, and the Devil turned 'round on you, where would you hide, Roper, the laws all being flat?

  6. And what law was it that gave you the right to torture heretics, eh?

Scandalous. Totally scandalous... to question the rule of law!
Must be an angle for me though....

  8. Translation please!

  9. Law. Don't give me law!

  10. Jackals are all lawyers feeding off carrion.
I mean, lawyers are all jackals feeding off carrion.
Sorry, got muddled for a moment.

  11. Boss... do we really have to go ahead with this?

  12. Like... its always funny to criticise lawyers, isn't it, guys?... until you actually need one... and assuming you can actually afford* one.

    * (Please note that the availability of lawyers is based on ability to pay and the nature of work offered. Cost of lawyers can go up as well as done.)

That does it. You're fired... I mean, sued.
