Christmas Crackers

This was sent to me by a troubled Christian who routinely checks his crackers for profanation:
First Man : What do you think Christ would say if he saw the commercial exploitation of the religion that bears his name?
Second Man: Where are my bloody royalties?

Is this what Christmas has come to? Even the crackers play Judas?

As a practicing Christian I feel that of course one should not laugh at any jokes that besmirch the good name of our Lord, but I am aware that these are modern times that we live in and it would perhaps be inappropriate to ban ordinary folk the right to poke fun at the Lord especially at this joyous time when, I think, even Christians can let their hair down.

As the head of the Anglican church I can say that it is of course inadvisable to lose too many of one's bishops in the course of an afternoon, but I am also aware that in the modern age we have to concede that there will always be a move towards more modern and progressive religions such as Catholicism. One has to allow ones bishops the freedom to move with the times

Whilst I would not want in any way to cause offence to members of the gay or lesbian community, I think that we must accept that attitudes will inevitably change over the course of time and that there are some among our congregation who will take exception to the acceptance of traditional Anglican values such as homosexuality and who will want to move towards a more modern reactionary approach.
